Biblical Numerology

Here’s a dose of numerology. I’m not sure where they get 2 Peter 9 from, I’m pretty sure that should be 2 Peter 1:20, but it’s an interesting article nonetheless.

My curiousity is quite peaked from articles like this. I recall how the three wise men consulted the stars in order to discover the location of Messiah’s incarnation. This leads me to believe that there is a whole wealth of knowledge that modern Christians are missing out on in relation to their faith. What I find most interesting about that is that even without more formal knowledge and education on how to extract meaning from the Word and nature, we still manage to get the message. How cool is that? That’s a great mystery to me how basic the message of God is; it’s simple enough that children can understand it yet complex enough to spend a lifetime trying to really “get it.”

Hee hee, I have to correct this at work all the time too… Pique is the correct word, not peak.

So do you think there’s something to this whole numerology thing? I’ve always been verrrrry skeptical about it, as pagans use numerology for L-O-T-S of things.

My curiousity happens to peak; my curiousity is like a symphony.

Just cuz pagans study numerology that doesn’t mean there’s not a place for it. People usually believe in wacky things for a reason :) I think there’s a lot of truth to things like numerology and astrology, but with all things figuring out how much faith to put in the method is key. In that respect, Kabbalah’s become quite popular.
