I came across this blog post describing “breast ironing” sometime last week. My heart just broke as I read it. It is so amazingly sad to hear of areas of the world where parents are so afraid of their children being attacked, abused, and defiled that they would rather mutilate them than let them develop naturally.
Can you even imagine living in a society where women had to be mutilated in order to have the chance at education?
