Lagging behind the Quaker state

Even Indiana is better than us! It’s a good thing Illinois doesn’t believe in natural selection…

Seriously, I’m not a fan of teaching evolution as scientific law (only mathematics can do that) but it is the most explanatory scientific theory to the formation of species changes. I’m definitely not saying that I believe in some ungainly “science over religion” argument—I believe they work together in a complementary way (much like the two creation stories complement each other in the Biblical narrative).

Illinois needs to raise its standards higher. All of my friends who work in education can attest to how messed up the system is in this state, and it’s not just in biological science: many children are being “left behind,” thanks in great part to that waste of taxpayers’ money.
