The SuperBowl is Set!

Wow. Today’s NFL Championship games were good!

Ever since their 2001 post season I’ve been following the Patriots, and I’m ecstatic to see their 18-0 record going to the SuperBowl with today’s win over the San Diego Chargers.

Their game was pretty much what we’ve been seeing all season long with the Patriots: a strong second half while their opponents slowed down. Yes, Tom Brady was intercepted a bit, but the running game kicked butt and the defense was great. The Chargers just didn’t have enough health and steam to get the job done.

The Packers played pretty poor offense but good-enough defense for the most part in their loss to the Giants today. Eli Manning led the offense really well, and he’s due for a lot of credit. He’s finally starting to play like at the level he’s been expected to play at ever since he was drafted. I like watching him. His instincts are top-notch but when he over-thinks a situation he tends to lose it. Even though I was rooting for the Pack I am relieved to not have to choose between the Patriot’s perfect season and sending Brett Favre off right.

The SuperBowl will be a great rematch of week 17′s fantastic Pats/Giants game. I can hardly wait :-D
