Watch “Lars and the Real Girl”

This weekend my wife and I watched “Lars and the Real Girl” a heartwarming story of a man with some issues.

Lars is a grown man who lives in the garage of the farm house he and his brother inherited from their distant father. Lars is increasingly distant and reserved until one day he appears at their doorstep asking for a favor: his secret girlfriend has come to town and he would like her to stay with the brother and wife (she’s very religious).

Bianca turns out to be a sex doll. As you can expect, the family flips out. The entire community makes a decision to support Lars by going along with his delusion that Bianca is a real person.

This movie is very heartwarming and fun to watch, and presents an interesting idea as an alternative way to deal with someone’s delusions.
